Students had a blast during the Easter egg hunt, racing across the building with easter bags in hand and big smiles on their faces! Laughter filled the air as they searched high and low for colorful eggs tucked behind books, under chairs, and in every clever hiding spot imaginable. It was a joyful mix of fun, teamwork, and a little friendly competition, creating sweet memories along with the treats inside each egg. πŸ£πŸ’ The Easter Bunny even came out to play.

Students and their moms—or special guests—gathered to enjoy muffins, juice, and quality time together.  Laughter and love filled the room as families connected, made memories, and celebrated the important role moms play in their children's lives. πŸ’•πŸ§βœ¨

JWLA scholars took the lead in a powerful Women’s History Month program, honoring trailblazing women past and present. Through poems, skits, songs, and presentations, these young leaders showcased their knowledge and creativity while celebrating the strength, courage, and achievements of women throughout history. The program was both inspiring and empowering—a beautiful reminder that even the youngest voices can make a big impact. πŸ’ͺπŸŒΈπŸ“š

Students’ first track meet is an exciting milestone filled with adrenaline, nerves, and pride.

Students’ first track meet is an exciting milestone filled with adrenaline, nerves, and pride. It’s a chance to put weeks of training to the test, experience the thrill of competition, and cheer on teammates from the sidelines. Whether they’re sprinting, jumping, throwing, or going the distance, it’s all about giving their best, learning from the experience, and celebrating the start of their track and field journey.  JWLA had their first track meet on April 9th and our athletes did an amazing job.  Come out and cheer on your friends, siblings, kids or students on April 22nd at 4:30.  The meet will take place at Rich Township High School STEM campus.

Broadcast students field trip to Governors State University

Students dove into the exciting world of media production, learning how to create, report, and deliver news, entertainment, and sports content across TV and digital platforms.

The broadcast students took a field trip to Governors State University.  They observed a live production of their new cast, TWAG. Students dove into the exciting world of media production, learning how to create, report, and deliver news, entertainment, and sports content across TV and digital platforms. They got hands-on experience with cameras, editing software, and studio equipment. Students learned whether they're anchoring the news, working behind the scenes, or managing social media, they are developing the skills and confidence needed for careers in journalism, production, and beyond.

When asked, "Who plans on attending Governors State University for broadcasting?" All students raised their hands. It was a great experience!
